There has never been a better time to look for a career that can help people be the best that they can be. It can be very rewarding, and it will take you some work to achieve your dreams, but here are a few ways that you might want to look into to kick start your career. 

First things first, you need to work out precisely what it is you want to do. Do you picture yourself working as a fitness instructor or a  personal trainer? Are you more interested in giving specific diet advice and support? Knowing exactly what you want to do will make sure that you are on the correct path to getting there. 

Dietician 

Getting into the weight loss business can mean helping people find their self-esteem and confidence, and this can be very rewarding. There is quite a high level of responsibility that comes with roles in this sector, and as such, you will need to gain a great deal of knowledge through training. Look at getting a certificate IV in weight management. Often courses can be completed online, or as a combination of seminars and distance learning, meaning that you can train for this type of role alongside your current job. 

This could see you working in a variety of settings, including in the private sector, in hospitals, in the community, or for businesses. You might want to use your qualifications and look to set yourself up working for yourself, providing support independently. 

Fitness Instructor 

Training for a career as a fitness instructor can take as little as ten weeks. You might want to do this around your current job too. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be particularly good at motivating people. Having the confidence to talk confidently to a large number of people all at once is going to serve you well in this job. Having the ability to create session plans will be necessary, as will a certain degree of patience with people who may not be at the fitness level you are used to. 

This is an excellent job if you are likely to enjoy spending a lot of time working out at the gym because you will need to be very active within this role. 

Personal Trainer

Personal trainers are a bit different from fitness instructors. They generally work one-on-one and are often self-employed. This means that when working as a personal trainer, you will need to take opportunities to work with your clients as often as possible and use downtime when the gym is empty to try and plan for future sessions. You may need to go after clients and get them to sign-up with you; however, you need to make sure that you are people focused and can deliver the results that your client needs. It can be gratifying to see the improvement in your clients, as well as the manifest financial incentives. It can, however, be a lot of hard work and some very long days!

Travel agents may not be as popular as they used to be thanks to the ease of booking your own flights and hotels now, but they can offer their clients knowledge that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to find out before booking. Things such as what kind of accommodation would best suit them, where to stay at their clients desired location, and also may be able to provide a discount through booking with them. English Teacher

The English language is popular among many destinations all over the world, and many different countries are looking for English teachers for their students. Obtaining a degree in teaching English would allow you to travel from place to place teaching English to many different types of people. Not only that, teaching English would allow you to stay in each country a little longer and fully experience the world!

Cruise Ship Staff

Have you ever wanted to step onto a cruise ship and let it sail you around the world, but can’t because you don’t have the money? Well, now you can! Cruise ship jobs have a reputation as one of the best employment opportunities in which you can travel. You are paid for seeing the world and interacting with individuals from a multitude of cultural backgrounds, all while earning a wage and getting free room and board. Since cruise ships offer almost every imaginable service, people from all backgrounds have work possibilities. You could be a server in a restaurant or bar, a technician, cashier, and even a performer.

Summer Bartender or Barista

If you’ve ever travelled anywhere remotely hot and sunny, then it’s likely that you’ve come across plenty of places where there’s a strip of bars and clubs. People from all over the world travel to places such as Bulgaria, Magaluf, and Ayia Napa. During tourist seasons you could get yourself a job working behind a bar and spend your days exploring the hot and sunny destinations. In some cases, you may be able to find a free room if you’re working in a bar that has housing options above or beside it. Many people find great joy from spending a few years hopping countries and bars to make a living.

Environmentalist

You’ll still be working in an office sometimes but most of your time will be spent visiting all sorts of different sites so it’s ideal for somebody that likes to move around a lot instead of being stuck inside all day. If you’re going to land surveyor job roles, you’ll need to get a degree first. There are some great courses that offer a mixture of traditional learning and on the job experience which will help you when you’re trying to apply for jobs.

Farming

Farming isn’t a job that most people consider because it’s usually considered a family trade that is passed down through the generations. But there’s no reason that you can’t be a farmer yourself if you want to. All of your days will be spent outside tending to crops or livestock and you won’t have to set foot in an office ever again. However, farming is a very difficult business to find success in and you’ll have to invest a lot of money in it, so think carefully about it and do your research before you make any decisions.

Park Ranger

Green, open spaces are becoming few and far between but there are still some amazing parks out there. If you love spending time in the great outdoors, why not look for a job as a park ranger? You can spend your work days patrolling some of the most beautiful places in the world and making sure that they’re being looked after properly.
